Il testo psichedelico é ancora puerile ed è stato scritto da Barrett durante un precedente periodo riccamente creativo. Il brano è stato incluso anche nel lato B del singolo “Flaming” pubblicato negli Stati Uniti.
The Gnome, the eighth track on the album The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, written by Syd Barrett, tells the story of a gnome named Grimble Gromble. The text is still childishly psychedelic and was written by Barrett during a previous period, richly creative. The song was also included in the B-side single “Flaming” published in the United States.
